We´re almost in February and I know it wouldn´t be appropriate to post any kind of “Happy New Year” – messages anymore. Instead, I wanted to send You – my Clients, Social Media Followers, Company Partners and Everyone who took part in Willow visuals´s journey – a big THANK YOU for 2018! It must sound like a broken record, but I am so glad to see that my work resonates with You! Thank you for coming along with me!
Now that I´ve had a little bit of time to reflect on the past 12 months, I thought I´d sit down and write about it. In 2018 I designed lots of lovely stationery for Clients from all over Europe and beyond, photographed beautiful, emotional weddings, held workshops and I took part in editorial projects to name a few. Besides business we went through a long renovation process in our new home which was sometimes literally blood, sweat and tears. We had our share of ups and downs, but till the end of the year everything worked out just fine. 🙂
Looking back to the whole picture, this combination of rush and pressure left me with positive changes: clear(er) solutions to nagging questions and a more defined idea of how I would like to work. I added more discipline to my work schedule and I set ways to hold myself accountable to my yearly goals. Sometimes I took a step back from posting / sharing, but I guess leaving space to breathe without phone and Internet is like a deep cleansing to the mind. I feel that all these changes allow me to do my job more efficiently and to give my very best to my Clients. 🙂
Another thing that I made in 2018 was the so-called “Happy Project”. I wanted it to be related to work, but in fact just for fun or to serve something good. The idea was to paint out of love or to photograph just to charge creative batteries and to make an actual project out of it. So, somewhere during the summer I started sketching herbs & spices and at the end of the year my drawer was full of paintings. By the time I finished them I knew I wanted the project to serve a good purpose, so I decided to design the Calendar 2019 – Herbs & Spices and to donate the entire sales to charities.
With YOUR help over 250€ was collected and equally split to two causes:
UNICEF – to help children in Yemen by improving access to healthcare, providing supplies and safe water.
WWF – for the protection of polar bears, their natural habitats and setting up national parks in the Arctic.
Everyone who shared the posts about it, purchased the calendar or made separate donations to these charities, THANK YOU! You are all great and I am so happy that you joined and helped! 🙂
So now, cheers to a creative, joyful and successful 2019 filled with kindness, hope, goals and everything you wish for! 🙂
